Back to list Service & repair Oct 21, 2013 23:00 Investment made over two years via Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program Investment made over two years via Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program OCTOBER 22, 2013 WHAT Direct Energy and Big Brothers Big Sisters across Pennsylvania will announce Direct Energy's investment in the nonprofit organization's program helping young people develop academic, behavioral and social skills one-to-one mentoring. The community sponsorship will benefit approximately 2,200 young people who participate in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Chapters of Berks County, Bucks County, Capital Region, Greater Pittsburgh, Lancaster County, Laurel Region, Lehigh Valley, Schuylkill County, Southeastern Pennsylvania and York County. The announcement will be made before an audience of the executive directors of the Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies, members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly and other public officials. WHO Direct Energy is one of North America's largest energy and energy-related services providers with more than 6 million customer relationships. Pennsylvania's evolving competitive energy market is sparking the company's expansion in the state. Big Brothers Big Sisters serves nearly 10,000 children in mentoring relationships with nearly 10,000 adult volunteer mentors. The nonprofit targets the children who need them the most, including those living in single parent homes, growing up in poverty and coping with parental incarceration.
