Direct Energy Expands Into Retail Natural Gas Services In Pacific Gas & Electric Territory

Pittsburgh, PA (April 1, 2013) - Direct Energy is now providing competitive natural gas supply services to business customers in the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) service territory, which serves approximately 15 million people in northern and central California. With increased competition providing opportunities for customers to choose their supplier and realize better gas pricing, business customers now have an attractive new choice from one of North America's largest integrated energy companies. More specifically, Direct Energy will offer business customers served by PG&E a suite of fixed and index products, which may provide competitive savings off the PG&E utility rate for gas supply.

Direct Energy's entry into the PG&E service territory expands its California footprint for retail gas service. The company already has a strong and established presence in California serving commercial and industrial customers with electric products as well as energy services through its Clockwork Brands.
