Back to list Service & repair Jan 22, 2013 00:00 Direct Energy Recognizes Joyce Johnston - Alberta Volunteer Citizen of the Year Finalist Joyce Johnson, an avid Millet Museum volunteer, was a finalist for the 2013 Volunteer Citizen of the Year Award, sponsored by Direct Energy and the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association (AWNA). Joyce was nominated for her outstanding contribution to the Millet and area communities. She has volunteered for over 32 organizations. For years she has dedicated her valuable time and energy to help whichever community organization needed her assistance, and takes great pride in the impact she has made on the community and the lives of its citizens. As part of the award, Joyce has generously chosen the Millet & District Historical Society as the community group recipient of the $1000 grant which was presented at the Millet Museum on Monday June 24. The Volunteer Citizen of the Year Award is recognition of her dedication and significant contribution to many communities.
