Defense Logistics Agency Selects Direct Energy Business As Energy Services Provider

Pittsburgh, PA (March 13, 2013) – Direct Energy Business announced that it has signed a two-year deal with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), a combat logistics support agency for the Department of Defense, to serve as the energy supplier for seven government facilities. The term started January 2013.

Direct Energy Business will supply more than 1.4 million total MWhs to the following facilities: Fort Hood, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Joint Reserve Base Naval Reserves, Naval Air Station Kingsville, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Army Reserves and Texas Air National Guard 147th Reconnaissance Wing.

The agreement will help to extend the Direct Energy Business brand value to some of the largest and most sophisticated military installations in the world. The fixed price product structure locks in all of the key components, providing these facilities with long-term price stability and continued budget certainty. In addition, Direct Energy Business has dedicated personnel to meet the customer service needs of this very important client-partner.

"For several years, Direct Energy Business has worked with federal agencies such as the Defense Logistics Agency to develop energy management programs that meet their unique needs," said Mike Senff, vice president of sales and marketing for Direct Energy Business. "The facilities included in the two-year deal know they can rely on Direct Energy Business for competitively priced electricity supply, and the tools and resources they need to better manage their overall energy use."

Senff is available for interviews.
