Direct Energy Brings Comfort & Control Plan with Nest Offer to More States

Houston, TX (August 22, 2014) - Through its partnership with Nest, which reinvents unloved products in the home, Direct Energy, one of North America's largest energy and energy-related services providers, today announced that it will be extending its Comfort & Control Plan to natural gas customers in Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio. The Comfort & Control Plan includes a Nest Learning Thermostat? at no cost, a $249 value. Additionally, starting in early September, natural gas customers in Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as electric customers in Connecticut, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., will be eligible for these bundles from Direct Energy. These new offers will provide customers a combination of a low fixed-energy rate combined with the potential energy-savings from a Nest Learning Thermostat.

As one of Nest's many partners, Direct Energy is committed to bringing the Nest Learning Thermostat to key competitive markets in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Canada.

In July, Direct Energy launched its Comfort and Control Plan -- which includes a Nest Learning Thermostat with a low fixed rate over a 24- or 36-month period -- providing stability in price for customers with the energy-saving benefits of the Nest Thermostat. The Direct Energy Comfort & Control Plan was initially launched with offers for residential and small business customers across Illinois, New Jersey, New York (except the Con Edison service area), Ohio and Pennsylvania.
