Direct Energy Employees Stay in Motion to Help Local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Houston, TX (December 7, 2015) — Each day across North America, Direct Energy® and its family of brands, power and service our customers' homes and businesses. Now, children's hospitals will get support powering the lives of their patients, thanks to a recent Direct Energy program. Every year in October, employees at Direct Energy participate in a fitness challenge called DE in Motion. For every mile an employee walks, runs, bikes, jogs or even swims, Direct Energy makes a donation. Almost 3,000 employees moved more than 300,000 miles for a total donation of $150,000. The money will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®, partnering with Direct Energy and its brands of services that include One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning®, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® and Mister Sparky®.

"Our mission is to make a difference in people's lives. This donation to local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, will be making a difference in the lives of children and families in the communities we serve. I am proud of our employees for the passion they put into this program," said Badar Khan, President and CEO of Direct Energy.

"It's been inspiring to see Direct Energy employees and brands help local kids gain the health and energy they need to enjoy childhood," said John Lauck, President and CEO of Children's Miracle Network
