Direct Energy Celebrates $1M in Donations to Houston MS Society’s MS150

HOUSTON - Direct Energy today was formally introduced into the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society’s Circle of Distinction, a national award given to an individual, corporation, foundation or team that has given or raised $1 million or more to the nonprofit organization.

“Direct Energy is so proud to receive this honor,” said Jessica Mahaffey, External Affairs vice president, Direct Energy. “Direct Energy’s support has come from the hearts of so many of our employees and their loved ones who have either been personally affected or personally moved to help eradicate this disease through medical research.”

A corporate supporter of the MS150 since 2004, Direct Energy formed a team of employees and their friends and family who together raise money along with additional company contributions. In the past two years, Direct Energy also was a sponsor of the Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) MS 150 team, with the TCH logo prominently on Direct Energy jerseys. A commemorative jersey has been given to the Houston MS Society to be placed on the walls of their hallway.
