Direct Energy Launches Energy Plan with Donation for Local Children’s Hospitals

Direct Energy today unveiled a new option for customers looking to give back to their local community while buying electricity: the 12-month Give Brighter Miracles plan donates $50 on behalf of each new customer to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, benefiting local children’s hospitals and their most precious patients.

“For the season of giving, this is a perfect option for those who want to give back,” said Kosta Zujic, General Manager of US Energy, Direct Energy. “We want our customers to know that when they choose the Give Brighter Miracles plan, their purchase will help fund critical treatments and pediatric equipment at local children’s hospitals.”

More than 10 million kids enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital each year. To help provide the best care, CMN Hospitals relies on donations and community support, as Medicaid and insurance programs don’t fully cover the cost of care.

“Corporate partner programs like the Give Brighter Miracles plan help raise critical funds to support our programs and initiatives that will benefit our network hospitals.” said John Lauck, President and CEO, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We are proud to have Direct Energy as a corporate partner for the past 5 years and thankful for the more than $4 million they have donated.”

This plan is available in CenterPoint, Oncor and TNMP utility service areas, which include the Houston and Dallas metro areas. Donations will be made on behalf of Direct Energy customers to local CMN Hospitals: Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.

Details about the plan are at directenergy.com/miracles.
