Direct Energy Offers Fixed Electricity Price For Direct Choice Customers In Town Of Lebanon

Lebanon, CT (10/24/2011) - As part of its agreement with the town of Lebanon, Direct Energy has set a new fixed price for a Renewable Energy Certificate product available to residents who want to enroll in the Direct Choice program. In addition to a customer receiving retail electric supply from Direct Energy, Direct Energy will purchase and retire Renewable Energy Certificates ("RECs") to offset 100% of a customer's electricity usage. Direct Energy's Renewable Energy Certificate product combines locally-generated electricity with national RECs generated from 100% wind energy.

For the January 2012 - December 2012 billing cycles, Direct Choice customers in the town of Lebanon will pay $0.0849 per kWh for their electric supply (exclusive of utility charges and taxes). Senior citizens age 65 or older are eligible for a discounted supply rate of $0.0839 per kWh.

Direct Choice is a marketing agreement between Direct Energy and the town of Lebanon that allows residents and small businesses located in the town to lock in their supply price for a specified period of time.

New participants must actively enroll into the Direct Choice program to benefit. To take advantage of the Direct Choice offer, individuals or small businesses need to be eligible to participate in the state's customer choice program and have a residence or small business located within the town limits of Lebanon. Further, Direct Energy encourages potential new participants that are under contract with another supplier to review their contracts for potential obligations prior to enrolling.
